[REVIEW] - LG G7+ ThinQ, the phone that you should not overlook.

For the past 2 months, I was given the opportunity to test out the LG G7+ ThinQ so that I can do my honest opinion accurately. Yes, The name is indeed long, hence I will just refer the phone as LGG7+.

The review device specification
  • 6GB Ram and 128GB of Storage
  • Moroccan Blue
  • Running on Android Oero 8.0

1. Beautiful Design

The LGG7+ design is pretty similar to the LG V30+, front and back of the phone are covers in curved glass. It comes in a variety of eye-catching colors option such as (Platinum Gray, Aurora Black and Moroccan Blue)

The fingerprint scanner is on the back of the phone, which you can reach for it easily as compare to Samsung Note 8. You can also find the vertical dual camera lens on the back too.

The buttons are very clicky and there is a dedicated button which you can bring up Google Assistant.

While on the front, you can see the beautiful 6.1 Inch screen and with the infamous notch with a front-facing camera on it. Not to worry, they are tricks that you can off it.

Lastly, as elegant as it looks, It is IP68 certification for water and dust resistance and hence you can use it outdoor without worry it getting wet at all. Chio and Long lasting at the same time.

The best part? With this design, you can actually operate the phone with one hand easily.

2. Best IPS Display

With its 6.1 Inch QHD+ resolution, 19.5:9 Full Vision Display, LGG7+ is among the brightest and clearest screen in the market right now. Know what? The brightness level can go up to 1000 nit, which allows you to use the phone easily under harsh sunlight.

The new display is able to provide better quality while reducing battery consumption. This is very important due to the battery capacity of this phone. Additionally, you can adjust the screen RGB level to fine-tune the screen to your own liking.

The NOTCH -
You can customize it to be colorful or turn it "off". It will make use of the black background to blend in with the notch to make its own "top bezel".

Maplestory

I would have to emphasise that watching Netflix, Gaming or Youtube Video on this phone is definitely an awesome experience.

Seriously, I am not kidding about it. Combining HDR+ Display with the superb sound quality is very SHIOK/AWESOME!

3. Boom Box and HI-FI Quad Dac Experience

I think i have mentioned before in my previous post about LGG7+ Boom Box feature. However, after that it for 2 months, I sincerely believe every phone should have this kind of speaker implementation.

-- How it works --
Place the phone down onto any hard surface or have an area that has the "echo" effect and just let it play. Any music/video will sound so good. Typically on any smartphone, I will crank up the volume to 80% (Don't say I am deaf ... ). However, for LGG7+, I usually set it at around 50 to 60 percent, I can enjoy my show already.

This is definitely the killer feature that why you buy this phone!

Apart from the speaker, LG's phone has always been using 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad Dac for the headphone experiences. Additionally, for LGG7+, they feature DTS:X 3D surround sound so that it can give you a more immersive audio experience too.

Just imagine while you are watching a movie, you are in the center of the movie itself. How cool is that? No other phone right now able to provide such high-quality stuff.

4. Best Dual Lens Combination

Normal Lens

Wide Angle

The rear camera comes with 16MP Super Wide Angle  (F1.9) with a 107-degree field of view as well as the (F1.6) standard camera with a 71-degree field of view. As for the front camera, is a new (F1.9) 8MP camera with an 80-degree field of view.

Whatever photo I took with the wide angle lens, I really think that it looks super artistic even though I am not a photographer.

ai cam test

Additionally, it comes with AI function which supposedly to help you enhance your shooting experience by recommending certain "scene". If you are shooting food photo, it will know that and recommend you the scene that makes your food looks more appetizing or appealing. If you are shooting group photos, it will recommend you to use the wide angle lens instead. Hence, as you can see from the above photo,  it is able to recognize that is a toy that I am pointing at.

Below are some photos I shoot with lGG7+ ThinQ for you guys to reference.

The area that I hope it will improve next;

Naturally, they are no such thing as a perfect phone. One area that I really hope that they improve on will be the battery capacity.

In 2018/2019, the standard should be at least above 3500mAh as I find myself needing to charge the phone twice per day.

Overall Experience

I definitely enjoyed using LGG7+ as my daily driver, with such a superb camera, beautiful design, fast and snappy with no lag experience.

In the competitive smartphone market, LGG7+ deserve a ranking in there.

If you are looking for an upgrade, look no further and consider LGG7+, as I will recommend anyone who loves to take photos or watch video on their device.
