Asus released a new Zenfone series phone, called the Zenfone 2. I was blown away by the price tag of this phone and with the specification that came along with it. I will be giving my opinion on this phone and you will decide yourself whether should you get this beautiful product.

Price

We shall start talking about the price first. ( The price that i am referring is in SGD (Singapore Dollar) Remember that it is also off contract price!!!

There are 3 price tag on this phone.

My Opinion

After listing out the specification, i have Bold the differences between those 3 models.
There are many reasons that i would rather pay extra money to get the (ZE551L) and here are my reasons:

  1. Naturally you will want a phone that can keep up with you whether in playing games or browsing web or even mulitasking. As this model provide you with the highest ram possible (to handle multi-tasking). It is also powered by 64 bit chip which allow you to fully enjoy gaming via your phone.
  2. Quick Charging has become so important in smartphone now, i have been emphasizing that the future smartphone must be equip with the quick charge feature, if not you are out-dated.
  3. Naturally the display is much more beautiful than the other 2 models, due to its 1080 HD display while the other 2 model are 720 HD display.
  4. When you are using a better display, the battery will be drain faster, luckily they bump up the battery to 3000 mAh, so i think the "duration" between the 3 of them will be the same.
These are the reasons why you should get the $429 Zenfone 2, but nevertheless there are so cons in Zenfone2.

  1. Camera: Even though it has 13 MP rear facing camera, the sensor they use *PixelMaster* isn't that great as compared to the other smartphone out in the market.
  2. I have tried the phone hands on, and i realized that the power button is position at the top, which is ... hard to reach considering the phone size.
    * But they have a feature similar to LG G 4 - Double tap to wake and sleep the phone
This is to solve the power button issue since you wouldn't really be reaching it. *

Conclusion

If you really want to get this phone, please get the $429 version and get it without contract... I will be holding two different operating system, an iOS and android. I would definitely get this as my spare phone or my gaming phone.
