Opinion

Just judging by the specs, Galaxy Note 5 is a BEAST. On paper, it shouldn't even lag during your normal usage as it is supported by 4gb of ram.

What i like:

  • It is a productivity beast phone. The sole intention of people who buy Note 5 for. The new and improve S-Pen features where you can write stuff the moment you take out the pen and save when you put back the pen.
  • The S-Pen is new design, and now it has a spring mechanism if you want to take out your pen. When you are using it, you can play with the "click" just like an actual pen.
  • When i hold the phone, it feel so light that make using the phone experience much enjoyable.
  • Fingerprint and a new wireless charging technology that support fast charge!
  • Awesome camera built in
What i dont like:

  • I not sure about the battery life, but it is just 3000mAh! I thought they would at least use a 3300mAh battery =/
  • This time round, consumer are not able to remove the back anymore. Doesn't make the Galaxy Note a wall hugging like an iPhone does?
  • LACK OF SD EXPANSION!!
Right now, the phone cost about $368 in Singtel Combo 3 contract.($61 per mth). I do not deem that as pricey but it is only for the 32GB version...... The lack of SD expansion stopped me from buying it immediately.... Honestly, i kind of expected the design to be similar to S6, but they should at least use the dual sim technology where you can put a single micro-SD card in it.

What do you guys think of the new Samsung Flagship? will you get Samsung Galaxy Note 5 or Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge + which cost about $468 (same combo and 32GB edition)

Asus Zenfone 2 - A Cheap and powerful phone.

Credit: GSMarena.com

Asus released a new Zenfone series phone, called the Zenfone 2. I was blown away by the price tag of this phone and with the specification that came along with it. I will be giving my opinion on this phone and you will decide yourself whether should you get this beautiful product.

Price

We shall start talking about the price first. ( The price that i am referring is in SGD (Singapore Dollar) Remember that it is also off contract price!!!

  • Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML 4GB ram/ 32GB storage, 5.5 Inch Display) $429
Look at the amazing low price for a smartphone that can actually fight with other brands middle tier phones.

My Opinion

After listing out the specification, i have Bold the differences between those 3 models.
There are many reasons that i would rather pay extra money to get the (ZE551L) and here are my reasons:

  1. Naturally you will want a phone that can keep up with you whether in playing games or browsing web or even mulitasking. As this model provide you with the highest ram possible (to handle multi-tasking). It is also powered by 64 bit chip which allow you to fully enjoy gaming via your phone.
  2. Quick Charging has become so important in smartphone now, i have been emphasizing that the future smartphone must be equip with the quick charge feature, if not you are out-dated.
  3. Naturally the display is much more beautiful than the other 2 models, due to its 1080 HD display while the other 2 model are 720 HD display.
  4. When you are using a better display, the battery will be drain faster, luckily they bump up the battery to 3000 mAh, so i think the "duration" between the 3 of them will be the same.
These are the reasons why you should get the $429 Zenfone 2, but nevertheless there are so cons in Zenfone2.
www.idigitaltimes.com
  1. Camera: Even though it has 13 MP rear facing camera, the sensor they use *PixelMaster* isn't that great as compared to the other smartphone out in the market.
  2. I have tried the phone hands on, and i realized that the power button is position at the top, which is ... hard to reach considering the phone size.
    * But they have a feature similar to LG G 4 - Double tap to wake and sleep the phone
This is to solve the power button issue since you wouldn't really be reaching it. *

Conclusion

If you really want to get this phone, please get the $429 version and get it without contract... I will be holding two different operating system, an iOS and android. I would definitely get this as my spare phone or my gaming phone.

Thank you for reading, please leave a comment down below if there is any feedback about the way i blog.

MY opinion on LG G 4 [ why I am not getting it ]

Sorry for neglecting this blog lately, as i am trying to type out a script for my next film. If you are interested in it, can visit my another personal blog : Olivierkeepeating.blogspot.com

Finally i can re-contract my Singtel plan this month, and after much consideration, i think i am not getting LG G 4  since I have decided to wait for the announcement of iPhone 6s/6plus s and Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

I will be touching on why i am not getting LG G 4 down below.

1. No fingerprint sensor.

To be honest, fingerprint sensor to me now is a must. It's a very convenient  and secured way to unlock your phone. Furthermore, it is to go along with Apply pay, Samsung Pay or even Google Wallet. You can just scan your phone and verify the card by swiping your finger on the sensor.

In this year 2015, fingerprint sensor should be built into every high end flagship phone. This is unacceptable.

2. No Quick Charging

Unlike LG's competitors, LG G 4 does not offer quick charging. Why is this important? Just imaging you are in the office, where your battery left about 20%, and you have a date at night. You left 30 min before you can leave the office. By having this feature, you can be assured that you will leave the office with at least 70-80%. Too bad they left this feature out.

3. Big Battery Life but Due to its display, it suck.

Even with its 3,000 mAh battery, the battery life still drain pretty fast due to its QHD display. "QHD resolution (2560 x 1440)" Personally, the battery life does outlived Samsung Galaxy S6, but the only shame is that it does not provide quick charging like i have mention earlier on.

4. Speaker at the back.

I do not need the speaker to be at the front like HTC M9/M8 series, i just want the speaker to be at the bottom of the phone instead of being at the back. The sound will always be muffled when i am holding the phone or the phone lying down on the table. This is another big minus point for them.

Conclusion.

Please do not be offended as this is purely my opinion after reading lots of reviews about the phone, LG G 4 is a beauty. With its QHD display, everything look super clear and nice if you watch movie on your phone. Interchangeable leather casing, good solid built that make it feel premium yet maintaining the removable battery feature and able to expend the storage via microSD card. Apart from those, it didnt manage to attract me. It does not have the WOW factor like S6 does, or feature like Galaxy NOTE series (Spen and drawing ability). Hence after much consideration, i am still patiently waiting for the upcoming phone this year.

- You cant chase for the most latest and better technology, as they changes very fast. I am sure that your current phone will be "lousier" within 6 month time due to a newer and better model phone will be out in the market. I am waiting for a phone that can fulfill what i want.
(Battery, Quick Charging, and a nicer color. lol! )

HTC Desire EYE - Selfie phone for people who like to take selfie.

To be honest, HTC's phones has always caught my attention. They always make some amazing product that people really love, especially their design sense. HTC M8, HTC M7 was their flagship phones. The only complaint filed by some consumers was the "Ultra 4MP". They already found a way to target the market segment - Camera Lover market as they announced the new

-HTC Desire EYE-
The phone was announced 2 days ago at the global press event in New York City. The Design of this phone totally blew my eyes away. Especially the blue version (I love BLUE) it look so sleek and i can't wait to get my hand on the phone.

CAMERA

The name should be enough for you to guess the unique feature; The 13MP front-facing camera and rear-facing camera is also at 13MP. Both ends of the phone offers dual-LED flash. According to technobuffalo, they mention that when they are testing the device, the front-facing flash needed to be toggle on and off manually. I also have viewed the sample photos that technobuffalo took, it look extremely beautiful/pretty/amazing/awesome. I going put a link to their hands-on video at the end of this post.

SPECIFICATION

  • This is a 5.2-inch phone with 1080P screen. Watching videos or looking at pictures with this phone will be so awesome too.
  • This is built out from high quality plastic - yet from the design, it look so premium and strong.
  • It has an IPX7 rating for water resistance hence you do not need worry about it getting wet.
  • Front-facing BoomSound speaker has been the plus point for HTC phone.
  • 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 processor - not the best, but should let you use the phone smoothly.
  • 2GB rams
  • 16GB storage (can be expended with microSD card)
  • NFC
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • 2,400mAh battery should be able to last you throughout the day since is not a really power beast phone but the 1080P display may be the battery killer.

Opinion

This phone is so attractive to me. when i first saw this news, i said to myself i had to post about it.
FYI- This is the Desire product line, hence it won't be a very powerful beast like the flagship HTC M8. They didn't mention about the price hence i am going to assume that this phone would fit into the Mid-tier price range. IF you are a person who love to take pictures with your phone or even selfie, you can consider this phone in your wishlist. If you want to compare it with iPhone, samsung Note 4, or LG, please compare the camera as this is the main selling point.

Name the phone that has attracted you so much this year (2014 )in the comment section down below. i would like to know :D
