Interesting Tech: ORII - The World’s First Voice-Powered Smart Ring Launches

I have come across this interesting product called ORII. Basically is a smart ring that looks very fashionable and with lots of smart features. It is founded by four Hong Kong-born university friends, the technology start-up is redefining how users interact with their smartphones, marking a notable shift away from a screen-based world.

*Do you know that they launched their campaign on 18th July? Since then, they have already reached its crowd funding fund in just 7 hours. Within 24 Hours, they have been chosen as the number one wearable project on Kickstarter! The last I checked, they have already reached 314% of their target! AMAZING right?

The Director

Kevin Johan Wong created the ORII to make lives simpler yet more productive in this age. It paves the way for an "offscreen" lifestyle while still providing people with useful features.

His inspiration came from his dad who had been visually impaired from a young age. Hence he set out to develop something that uses voice and text-based technology to help others like him and is a pioneer in his field with eight patents under his name.

Integrating the same technology used in hearing aids, ORII uses bone conduction to send sound discreetly to your ear, creating a device which allows freedom from the screen-based interaction.

The best part of this feature is that people cannot hear your conversation unless they touched you!

Product features:

The ring turns your hand into a smartphone using cutting-edge bone conduction technology to transmit sound. Founded by four Hong Kong-born university friends, the technology start-up is redefining how users interact with their smartphones, marking a notable shift away from a screen-based world.
  • Users can make calls, send messages, or command a voice assistant, such as Siri or Google Assistant, by simply placing their fingertip to their ear.
  • Able to translate some phrases for you so that you can communicate with people easier when you are traveling.
  • It has some water resistant so that you need not worry when you are washing hand.

Overall, I believe you guys should support them and give it a try. Since it is something I believe is useful to you too!
