[Food Review] Dojo - A pork burger heaven

I am back for another food review, since i have been eating quite a lot lately.

If you haven't hear about DOJO before, today is your lucky day as their pork burgers are so delicious.

Address: 72 Circular Rd, 049426           Phone:      6438 4410                                Hours:  Open today · 11:00 am – 9:45 pm

This is my 2nd time visiting DOJO, we found this shop a few months ago, and my girlfriend fell in love with their burgers instantly ( must be the pork ). This time round we decide to order 3 burgers just to review it. When we reached there, the surrounding remains the same, just that they have added more stuff into their menu. Now they have their own Yakitori (BBQ stick), and much more side dishes too.

We ordered 3 burgers and 2 Yakitori. (No judging, we can really eat a lot =p)
Let me show you the burgers individuals now:

Hikkori set - includes fries and drinks ( $13 )
Pork petty with smoky Hickory sauce ( bbq sauce ) topped with double bacon
strips and gherkins aka cucumber.
8/10 (recommended)

The reason why i ordered this is due to the bacons. It came to me looking good and smell very very delicious. When i took the first bite, the smoky Hickory sauce was quite strong as it covered the Petty flavor. The bacon itself is crispy like it supposed to be. Even though i am not a BBQ sauce fan, I still love the texture of the whole burger. ( Crispy when you are chewing it, and the patty itself taste very nice )

Big Boss Set - includes fries and drinks ($14)
Pork petty topped with crispy onion ring, egg, melted cheese and
 crunchy bacon.
10/10 (Highly Recommended)

My Girlfriend all time favorite. The same Pork petty but covered with melted cheese which make the whole burger taste cheesy and with the both crunchy toppings - Onion ring and Bacon, you will totally fall in love with it. Yummy.

Kaiju ala carte ($10)
Melted cheese on a pork petty slathered in delicious sauce
made from a combinations of mushrooms.
10/10 (Highly Recommended)

This is the first time that i ordered this burger, and i love it very much. The Pork patty is different here i think, the whole texture of it is softer and more flavor. Maybe because the meat is marinated with mushroom sauce beforehand? *Note* If you are not a mushroom fan, you will the taste more overwhelming. At the end of the day, i can eat this burger again and again.

Yakitori - Pork Nuggets(bottom) and Pork Belly tare (Top) $3ea
( 7/10 and 10/10 respectively )

The pork nuggets taste normal? I am quite disappointed as they ran out of their pork grillets which i find it more tasty * Be sure to order that ! *
The pork belly taste absolutely amazing... The sauce they marinated with taste so good! The fat will melt in your mouth. Do not need to worry, it is easy to chew.  (im drooling now)

Conclusion

You should definitely head down and try it for yourself. The pictures itself are already so amazing, big fat pork patty. They are quite special because they served all the foods in steam bucket. ( I don't know the actually term for it. )

The whole restaurant look and feel unique and know what? No GST at all. Since you need to collect your food yourself.

Another thing to note is that they do not except credit cards, and they only accept nets if you spend $25 and abv. Remember to bring cash if you find it a hassle.

They also have loyalty card - be sure to check with them if you going to visit them very often.

Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed it. Be sure to share and let me down in the comment section if you have any other place for me to eat.

[Food Intro] Chock Full of Beans - 3D LATTE ART!!!

It is time for my another food intro, since everyone love to eat anyway. (Sorry for the bad photos, due to my lousy phone's camera)
  1. Chock Full Of Beans

    Address: 4 Changi Village Road #01-2090, 500004
    Phone:6214 8839Hours:· 11:00 am – 10:00 pm

If you do not know yet, they are famous for their 3D latte art. Like the picture below:

Ice Hazelnut Latte and Ice Caramel Macchiato ( $6.50)

I had the Ice Hazelnut Latte, It was pretty good. This was the first time that i drink Hazelnut latte though, and it was good. The taste of the hazelnut really mix well with the coffee. My girlfriend had the Caramel Macchiato and i tried it, it taste a bit bitter. Correct me if i am wrong, Caramel should be sweet right? haha.

Let's move on to the main course. We had the Pork Roulette Pizza and Smoke Salmon Sandwich.

 Smoked Salmon ($13) 9/10

I tried the Smoked Salmon, it tasted very good (even though i do not like bread/sandwiches). Most Smoked Salmon that i had before was very salty, but you can taste the Salmon omega fats taste. (The oily oily feel but is a healthy oil). Beside the taste, the portion of this are huge. It is very much filling even for me. Give it a go if you are there, certainly you won't regret it.

Pork Roulette Pizza ($13.50) 9/10.

The reason why i decided to order a pizza, because i want to avoid being mainstream =x. People who went there usually ordered spaghetti or sandwiches hence i ordered this pizza. I must say that i didn't regret it at all. The pizza taste very delicious as the crust wasn't hard to chew. The pork taste very yummy and was cooked just nice. If you are a pork lover, you will definitely love it.  Even though it was not very hard to chew, i still prefer the crust to be thinner. ( Like skinny pizza ) The opinion is just for my own taste.

We decided to order the Oreo Cheesecake to try... it turned out to be quite a disappointment.

Oreo Cheesecake ($6.50) 6/10

Sorry for the low rating for this, it may be biased since i don't really like to eat cakes. I do have my fair share of cakes before, and i believe that the cheese taste shouldn't overpowered the Oreo taste. I actually stopped eating after a few mouth, i do not know how to describe it... Try it at your own risk! haha. *Just kidding*

I have to admit that their craftsmanship is very good, cute cake syrup and latte art. Everything was serve pretty fast, including the Pizza which caught me in surprise. (They took 10min only? if i am not wrong) but they just need to smile more. (Coming from someone with lots of experience in servicing F&B industry)

Conclusion:

I do recommend in going there for a dinner and relax but you have to remember, you have to make a reservation before heading there. (Best is a day before) You can make reservation via their website
Click to go --> Chock Full of Beans
Since it is located at Changi Village, you can take a stroll down the beach which is just 5 min walk away or just head behind the cafe where the rest of good foods are hiding at.

Comment down below if you know any other 3D latte art cafes, so i can go down and eat !
Thanks for reading.

(SG FOOD POST)The Mama shop is a place you should visit and chill

Maybe i should start trying to blog about food more often because, FOOD ARE EVERYWHERE.
If i am not wrong, this is my 2nd post about food so far?

The MAMA SHOP. (Felicia Chin and Sora Ma are the proud owners of this shop)

The Mama Shop
195 Pearl’s Hill Terrace, #01-54 Old Police Operational Headquarters Singapore 168976 (Chinatown MRT)

Opening Hours: 12pm-10pm (Mon-Thurs), 12pm-11pm (Fri-Sat), 12pm-10pm (Sun)

Direction:
1) Alight at Chinatown MRT station. Take Exit C. Walk straight to People's Park Complex Food Centre. Cut through the food centre to the back. Turn left and you will see a flight of stairs. Go up the stairs. Walk to destination. Journey time about 6 minutes. [Map]

Lets talk about the main part of every food post, what i ordered and how is it?

Bandung Ice Blended. ($3.90)
Usually i wound not choose an ice blended kind of drinks because it usually taste very bland due to the excessive ice used but i guess the drinks was okay? It is not as bland as i thought. ( 7/10 )

luncheon Fries. ($8)
If you going there, be sure to order their Luncheon fries. It is too good to give it a miss. Highly recommended. ( 9/10 )

Chicken Nugget. ($5)
I would say that if this dish is served without the special orange color sauce, (their own curry sauce), i would say NO! However, the sauce is there. You should give it a go if you are a nugget person, it taste nicer than Macdonald's curry sauce. Oh, dont worry, the sauce is not very spicy. ( 8/10 )

Fishcheon Burger. ($10.90)
According to my girl, It is unique but tasty. Even though it is Luncheon, it does not have the very salty taste and it is not fishy. With the mayo sauce and the veggies, it actually compliments each other. In other words, it is worthy to try if you have never eaten Fishcheon. ( 7.5/10 )

Messy Messy Nice Nice Mama Burger
(Beef burger)
I find the beef was not very tasty, it went more towards the bland side. I like how they would grill the bread and serve it together with the "middle dish". ( 6.5/10 )

That's all for food. Overall, the way they served the food was very old-school method. (tray and side dish is the snack that i eat when i was young.) Since Felicia mentioned before that they want to bring customer back to the past *time travel*, i can say that they actually did it.
Eventually i would still go back if they have special event - so remember to like their facebook page and take note of the event news they release.
( 7.5/10 )

Below are some of the photos that i took that showcase the surrounding of the shop

GF looking at more snacks (yummy)

OLD SCHOOL SIA!

OMG, i remember eating this when i was watching tv.

How thoughtful of them to play pitch perfect 1 on the wall. The only suggestion that i need to give is, please use a bigger speaker! ( Just kidding )

This conclude my food post, many more to come!
